FRASER COUNCIL 'NOT BROKE' STATEMENT

FRASER COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
FCRC

A RECENT PRESS COVERAGE HIGHLIGHTED THE EMPTY COFFERS OF THE FRASER COUNCIL BECAUSE OF THE ‘OVERCHARGE’ TO DEVELOPERS CAUSING THEM TO ABANDON LOCAL PROJECTS IN DROVES & GO TO GREENER PASTURES.
COUNCIL SAY THEY ARE LOOKING AT REDUCING THE OVERCHARGES AND THE WAITING PERIOD FOR APPLICATION PROCESSES.
DOES THIS HAVE A FAMILIAR TONE TO IT?
THE COUNCIL NEEDS SERIOUSLY TO LOOK AT ATTRACTING DEVELOPERS NOT TURNING THEM AWAY WITH HIGH CHARGES AND RIDICULOUS DELAYS FOR THE SIMPLEST OF THINGS.
THE RESPONSE FROM COUNCIL IS BELOW>>>IT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.

Hi Folks
The Fraser Coast Regional Council refutes claims it is facing a financial crisis due to a lack of infrastructure charges collected from developers as reported in sections of the media.
